                Tajikistan is the richest Central Asian country in terms of water resources. In the territory of the country 64 billion cubic meters of water originate annually that makes more than 60% of river flow of the region.

    REPUBLICAN CONTEST FOR YOUNG ROAD INSPECTORS TURNED 5!

    During five years a contest for young road inspectors(YIR) take place in Tajikistan. The main aims of the contest are promotion of activities on prevention road traffic injuries(RTI) of children and youth, attracting attention of organizations related to prevention of road traffic injuries of children and youth.

    Joint activities of national and european tb coalitions to stop tb in tajikistan.

      From 13 to 20 April of the current year a delegation of the TB Europe Coalition (TBEC) visited Tajikistan aiming to strengthen a comprehensive cooperation in the fight against TB.  In the frame of visit program the TBEC together with STBPT conducted useful meetings with 14 concerned ministries, offices and international and local organizations.

     In Dushanbe, Tajikistan events on prevention of injuries and deaths of children on the roads took place.

     Since September 2014 Young Led- NGO "MPT" implements the project "Improvement of road safety through education”. On April 10-11,2015 a two-day training on the preparation of Young road inspectors was organized and held within the project, which was attended by 28 students of five pilot schools Firdavsi Dushanbe.

    В Истаравшане более 72% населения имеют доступ к безопасной чистой воде. Тем не менее, по данным государственного санитарно-эпидемиологического центра  1710 человек имеют инфекционные заболевания связанные с доступом к безопасной питьевой воде и санитарией,  из них почти 54% дети и подростки.

    В соответствии с  данными Санитарно-эпидемиологического ценра г.Вахдата за 2012 год, в городе  только 32,6% имеют доступ к чистой питьевой воде. Кроме того, в связи с низким уровнем санитарно-гигиенических условий в городе, 79% из числа детей в возрасте до 14 лет заболевают инфекционными болезнями.

    STATUS OF THE WATER SUPPLY, SANITATION AND HYGIENE WILL BE IMPROVED IN THE SCHOOLS OF VAKHDAT AND ISTARAVSHAN REGIONS IN THE REPUBLIC OF TAJIKISTAN.

     Lack of access to safe drinking water and improved sanitation continue to burden the population of Tajikistan that constrain improvement in health and overall development. According to the latest figures claimed by the President of the country on the International water conference in Dushanbe in August 2013, presently, only 58.5% of the population has access to improved drinking water sources and 30% - to improved sanitation. Particularly difficult is the case in rural areas. Where access to drinking water has only 42.9% of the RT live in rural areas.

     Road traffic injuries (RTI) is main reason of death of youth at the age of 10 – 24 years (to this group of age refer 30% of world population). And according forecast of World Health Organization by 2015 it will become main reason of disability and premature death of children at the age of 5 – 14 years in the countries with low and middle level of incomeThis will result in the loss of many more years of life, disability-adjusted than as a result of malaria, tuberculosis, or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS)1.
